🎉 Create a Gather

One link is all it takes to invite people over — guests RSVP and claim what they're bringing with just a name, nothing else asked for.

1

What's the occasion, and when?

A title and a date are all you need to get started — time and everything else is optional.

Ready? Everything below is optional.

2

Your name, and who's invited?

Both optional — you can skip straight to sharing the link and let guests RSVP with any name.

Ready? Everything below is optional.

3

Where, and anything else guests should know?

All optional. Add sign-up items if this is a potluck-style gathering.

Ready? The custom link below is optional too.

4

Customize your link, then create and share

⚠️ The link IS the gather — save or bookmark it right after creating, or you won't be able to find it again.

We'll suggest a short link once you add a title — feel free to edit it.

How Gather Works

Gather is a lightweight invite and RSVP page for informal get-togethers — a potluck, a recurring meetup, a game night. Unlike a typical Evite-style tool, it never asks for an email address, phone number, or account. Guests respond with just a name.

Optionally add a sign-up sheet (e.g. "Salad," "Drinks," "Bring a chair") — guests can claim an open item when they RSVP, so nobody has to coordinate over text who's bringing what.

Gather is a different tool than Align: Align finds a meeting time across everyone's availability when nothing's decided yet; Gather collects RSVPs for a date that's already set. You can start a Gather from scratch, or, if you've already run an Align poll or built a roster in the Planner, import the names and the decided time straight in.

There's no sign-in and no list of "your gathers" anywhere on the site — a gather only exists at the link it was created with, so save or bookmark that link. Each gather's own page shows how many days it has left before it's automatically cleaned up.

Why there's no login, and what that means for you. Gather is built to collect as little as possible — no email, no phone number, no account for anyone, ever. That's a deliberate privacy choice: the less personal data a tool asks for, the less there is to ever leak, sell, or mishandle. The tradeoff is that the link itself is the only thing standing between your group and anyone else — whoever has it can see the guest list and add or change an RSVP, the same way anyone holding a physical invitation could. There's no password or login layered on top, on purpose, to keep it simple and quick to use. In practice this works by trust, the same way a shared photo album link or a group text does: keep the link inside your group, don't post it somewhere public, and if you ever suspect it's leaked, just create a fresh gather and re-share the new link.

Gather is part of Tools HQ's free small group planning toolkit, alongside Align and Announce — find a time, send the invite, and share it, all without creating an account. 100% secure and private: no data is ever collected or stored on our servers, no sign up, no login, no email required for anyone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do guests need to create an account or give an email to RSVP?

No — guests RSVP with just a name. No email, login, or account is ever requested from anyone.

How do sign-up items work for a potluck?

The organizer lists items (e.g. "Salad", "Drinks", "Ice"); guests claim one by name so nothing gets duplicated or missed. Everyone sees who's bringing what.

Can a guest change their RSVP after submitting it?

Yes — returning to the same link and submitting again with the same name updates their existing response instead of creating a duplicate entry.

Is there a headcount total for planning food or seating?

Yes — a running tally of Yes/Maybe/No responses is shown prominently, so the organizer always has an at-a-glance count without adding it up manually.

Is any guest data collected or stored beyond the invite link?

No — the invite only exists at the link it was created with. There's no account system, and nothing is shared beyond that link.
