About Tools HQ
What this is
Tools HQ is a small collection of free, browser-based utilities — a visual timezone meeting planner, an availability poll (Align), a no-signup group invite/RSVP page (Gather), an event-time broadcaster (Announce), plus a currency converter, PDF tools, developer utilities, and a few calculators. Nothing here needs an account. Most of it needs no login at all.
Why we built this
The specific problem was mundane and familiar: coordinating a time across people in different timezones is more annoying than it should be, and the tools for doing it usually come bundled with an account you didn't want, a signup wall, or a lot of clutter around a genuinely simple task. Tools HQ started as a way to fix that — one good timezone planner — and grew into a small suite once the same "just let me do the thing without an account" idea kept coming up for related problems: finding a time that works for a group, inviting people to something already decided, and telling people a time in a way that auto-converts to wherever they are.
There's also a simpler thread running under all of it: these tools exist because people coordinating across timezones are, almost by definition, trying to do something together — plan a call, throw a party, get a group in the same place at the same time. We like that spirit. Call it Aquarian if you want the reference: less about any one person locking in a decision alone, more about a group finding its own way to a time that works for everyone in it. Align, Gather, and Announce are built around that same idea in three different shapes — proposing options, inviting people in, and broadcasting a decision once it's made — rather than any one of them being "the" tool and the others afterthoughts.
How we think about your data
The short version: we try to collect as little as possible, and several of these tools are built to need nothing at all. Announce encodes the whole event in the link itself — there's no database behind it. Gather asks for a name, nothing else, ever. The PDF tools run entirely in your browser; your files never reach our servers. Where we do collect something (opt-in, anonymous analytics, described in full in our Privacy Policy), it's there to help us understand what's actually useful, not to build a profile of you. We don't sell data, because we don't have any worth selling.
Who's behind it
Tools HQ is built and maintained by a small, independent team — not a large company, and not a funded startup. We're using a Gmail address for contact while this is still an early, independently-run project; a dedicated domain address is on the list once there's more here to justify one. We'd rather be upfront about being small than dress it up as something it isn't.
