📢 Announce an Event

Send one link, and whoever opens it sees your event time already switched to their own clock — no signup, nothing saved anywhere after.

1

What's the event?

A short title plus the date and time — every visitor sees it converted to their own local time automatically.

2

How long, and does it repeat?

Both optional — duration is just context for viewers, and recurrence is only for events that happen on a schedule.

This just anchors the event to a real place — every viewer still sees it converted to their own local time.

How Announce Works

Announce solves a different problem than Align or Gather: you already know exactly when your event is — you just need to tell people about it without doing timezone math yourself, or asking them to. Share one link, and whoever opens it instantly sees the event time converted to their own device's timezone, automatically detected — no signup, no searching for their city.

Everything happens in the browser. The event's date, time, and city are encoded directly in the link itself — nothing is ever sent to or stored on a server, so there's no database, no expiry, and no account needed to create or view one.

Below the two time boxes, a full table shows the same event converted into every city in our database, searchable, so you can check how it lands for a specific city without needing to be there.

Announce is for a single, already-decided moment. If the time itself is still undecided, use Align instead — everyone marks their own real availability and the poll finds the best alignment. If you need an RSVP/guest list for an already-decided get-together, use Gather.

Align, Gather, and Announce together make up Tools HQ's free small group planning toolkit — find a time, send the invite, and share it, all without creating an account. 100% secure and private: no data is ever collected or stored on our servers, no sign up, no login, no email required for anyone. If you haven't decided on a time yet, start with Align; once your get-together is set, use Gather to collect RSVPs.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the recipient see the event time in their own timezone?

The event's exact moment in time is encoded into the link itself. When someone opens it, their browser converts and displays that moment in their own local timezone automatically — no timezone picker or math needed on either end.

Can I announce a recurring event?

Yes — set it to repeat daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly, with an optional end date or occurrence count, and the link shows each upcoming occurrence converted correctly.

Does the recipient need to sign up or install anything?

No — opening the link is the entire experience. There's nothing to install, no account, and no app required.

Is any data stored on a server when I create an announcement?

No — the whole event (title, time, timezone) lives in the link's own URL. Nothing is saved in a database, so there's nothing to manage or delete later.
